Seen This Scene That Reflection

Seen This Scene That Reflection

My Seen This Scene That posting rate has slowed to a crawl in the past month or two due to pressing matters.

As a parent with three school-going kids and with one child sitting for the PSLE examinations this month, I have been cutting back on my Seen This Scene That outings recently.

For those who are not familiar with the term 'PSLE' which stands for Primary School Leaving Examination, this is the same examination that all Primary Six students in Singapore must sit for before they leave primary school.

This is my second experience and it has not been any easier. As a family keen on regular outings, we have had to prioritize family activities and to curtail some trips. Public parks, park connectors, farms, reservoirs, playgrounds, beaches and open spaces in Singapore have not been seeing Seen This Scene That et el for some time.

With the exams completed, we can heave a collective sigh of relief and resume our usual activities and routine visits to the many family-friendly places in Singapore.

With re-visits to familiar haunts and exploration of new crooks and crannies around our Little Red Dot to plan for, Seen This Scene That's calendar should fill up fully.

Still, it will take time to crank up my engine for Seen This Scene That before postings start to flow.

If you know of exciting new places in Singapore to recommend, just drop me an email or comment. I enjoy reading your family-friendly suggestions on the places of interest to visit in Singapore.

For those looking to do something interesting before my next post arrives, here is a quiz to keep your brains active and your eyes engaged.

Where was this 'Reflection' photograph taken in Singapore?

See more places. Live more life.

Yep. Exam fever for the children that makes parents feel the heat as well.

I too have not gone on my usual bike rides post Ramadan month and busy with visits during this Raya month.

Hopefully will start again on my quest for serenity once Sonny finishes his Sec 2 finals mid next week.

Looks like Chinese Garden in Jurong East. Is it? I've not been there since my primary school days. I went there only once in my lifetime. Should be more exciting once they revamp the park and pond for the time being, so I've heard.

Have a great start again to your family outings!

i realise that the water need not be clear or clean for you to see a reflection; it only needs to be still.

As a parent of 3 children myself, I'd say that it is wise of you to bring your children out to parks often. Besides the family bonding, it keeps them from the less healthy pre-occupations like computer games, cinemas, shopping centres etc. I also read that exposure to the outdoors is good for their eyesight.

Relish these times while you can. When they reach my children's age - JC, Uni and NS - it will be very difficult to have this kind of gatherings. Even to plan a holiday together is so difficult now.
