"The M114 Howitzer
The M114 Howitzer was developed and manufactured by Rock Island Arsenal, USA on the early 1940s. It was the main Medium Field Artillery Weapon used by the Allied Forces towards the end of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
The M114 Howitzers were brought into service with the SAF in 1973. These guns were first stationed in 23 SA and were later transferred to the NS battalions. After more than 20 years of service with the SAF, these guns were de-commisioned in the mid-90s."
